"Online Learning" may not be as prudent as many educators and administrators think it is.
#1. The research results suggest that language courses taught with online supplementary material make little difference in student test scores.
#2. The research results also suggest that students enrolled in the with-online course tend to stay in the course (19% more students stayed through to the end of the semester in the with-online course, compared to the without-online course). Many of the low achievers could have lowered the mean scores in the with-online course group.
These findings suggest that online learning may be nothing more than an academic exercise.
