Dana Reeve, who was a nonsmoker, died with lung cancer in 2006 (1961-2006)." Passive smoking or inhalation of tobacco smoke from other smokers sharing living or working quarters is fatal. Nonsmokers who live with a smoker have a 24% increase in risk for developing cancer. Approx. 50,000 cancer deaths occur each year in the U.S. due to passive smoking.
FYI. ☻SACRAMENTO -- On 1/26/06, California regulators became the first in the nation to designate second-hand tobacco smoke as a "toxic air contaminant,'' placing it in the same category as the poisons arsenic and benzene.
